No other Hotel on our holiday greeted us
with such a happy smile or a refreshing
glass of orange choice.
...
Although the room was small for four people.
It was very comfortable. We would not
hesitate in staying at the the Unicrn again.

Thank you
...
very good.
...
If you need a warm and friendly welcome
after a long trip, then the Hotel Unicorn is
the place to go.
...
Don't waste your money on the Hotel Ritz. If
you are out sight seeing all day and need a
place to sleep and have a good breakfast
book into the Hotel Unicorn. It's walking
distance from where ever you need to be.
They've got Internet tv A/C. And most
importantly, you get treated like a guest
and not a tourist.

We were made very welcome.
...
We were commfortable and had no complaints whatever. The hotel was ideally situated for exploring the city, and also for the rail and bus stations. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Firenze for the first time as we were.
...
Staff were helpful in arranging for us to check out early as we had to catch an early train on departure.

I have been to the hotel before so it was easy to find it!
...
I checked out a bit early so I'm not surprised they weren't ready
...
The fact that the lift does not go to all levels - there are some half-floors so there always seem to be a few stairs to carry cases up
...
Good location, pleasant decor, good breakfasts!

Due to the rail strike on the 18th June,(the day we were due to travel from Rome to Florence), the hotel was very accommodating in allowing us to to arrive a day earlier (17th) and to stay 2 nights.
...
For 3 star accommodation the hotel is expensive going by general standards in Italy but its fairly central position in Florence presumably enables it to charge at these prices.
...
The name 'Unicorn Hotel' conjured up a rather grand 200 bedroom hotel for some reason in my mind but it is quite the reverse. Situated in a narrow terraced street its exterior presence is not at all imposing and its size is nearer to 30 rooms than 200.
Otherwise see comments in 16.
...
The external appearance is nothing to shout about but belies the interior. The hotel is quite small (less than 30 rooms??) and charmingly compact. Reception areas are limited but use the space available very effectively. It is in quite a notable little street - one, I believe, that used to house artisans etc.of Florence in the past and is within easy walking distance of the tourist centre (Uffizzi, Ponte Vecchio, etc)
Room accommodation is fine, clean, very quiet though the beds are rock hard! Breakfast is good.

We wouldn't mind staying in the same hotel if we visit Florence again. The staff was friendly and helpful. The street was noisy, but the window was sound proof.
...
A centrally located hotel in the medium price range, with a friendly staff. The hotel has a nice atmosphere because it is small.

We found the room clean but grubby e.g paintwork was a bit worn. Very inadequate toiletries for shower (had to pop out to buy some). Breakfast offered was of very poor quality. Have stayed in three star hotels in Italy many times and this fell far short of the standard we expected. However, the location was very good. I do not think that we would make a return visit though.

Had to wait for receptionist to finish a long private telephone call!
...
The hotel decor is 'tired' and gives the feeling of needing another refurbishment. Towels were paper thin. Water pressure in our bathroom was very poor.

The Semi Suite was only marginally better than a Standard room.

Not a hotel to visit again.

Basic hotel - not worth 3* rating.
