At this link villagamberaia/pages/apart.htm> the interior image of our accommodation (Nettuno) is next to the Cappella Apartment and the image next to Nettuno doesn't look like our accommodation! I believe, based on a piece of paper in the accommodation, we were in Nettuno... ... There was a 'bodyguard' who wouldn't let us access the main villa grounds, even to just look around. He was ever-present, and appeared threatening to all of us.
Although the staff was unaware of our request for breakfast Monday morning (we arrived Sunday), Andy quickly set up breakfast for us and then provided our complete breakfast Tuesday and charged us less. He was always VERY helpful in every way!!! ... Checking out was as simple as leaving. The office ladies were helpful in making reservations and calling taxis for us. ... We didn't realize how close the villa property was to Firenze. Not that it was easy getting to Finenze and back...we kept getting lost until the last night. ;-)
It's proximity and view of Ferenze was an unexpected surprise!
We never did find the main swimming pool... ... Charming 400 year old villa in Tuscany, overlooking Ferenze and the Duomo, with a wonderful staff.

We arrived well before 4:00 just to ask a few questions and to leave our car but we were able to get into the villa so we were very happy and pleased. ... Appreciated the tour of the villa by Andy the manager. ... Appreciated the help loading and unloading luggage which wasn't expected. Also some fruit, cookies and water were left for us which was another extra. ... No outdoor sitting area to have a drink - or to bbq and eat. Not a great kitchen but adequate. As nice as the place was it didn't lend itself that well to dining in - especially if there happened to be 6 people. Going out to eat was the best solution - but only 1 decent restaurant nearby. We ate there 4 times!!! ... Lovely gardens, nice staff, good accomodations - but not a great eating area for the unit. Limited restaurants. Having the bus into Florence a plus.

Due to an administrative error at the villa, our arrival was unexpected. However, the problem was swiftly resolved. ... No ... An attractive villa in a beautiful location in the hills just outside Florence. The gardens are splendid and the accommodation is spacious. Florence is just a 25 minute bus ride away. Recommended for those who want to be handily placed to visit the sights but also to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Staff is very accommodating and prepared an excellent breakfaxt every morning. Pool is not on the property and therefore less convenient to use. The gardens and views are even more spectacular than the photos on the website. Bedrooms in Limonaia are air- conditioned but main floor living area is not. Nice gelato store in Settignano is only five minute walk and is open until 10PM. Very hot in August, would probably be better in non summer months. Furniture/decor not up to same standards as rest of experience ... One of the most beautiful settings in Italy. Hard to beat for a family or group of 6 to 8 people.
