Set on the banks of the Arno river,
in the Florentine Countryside, tight at the beginning of the Chianti Classico, Gallo Nero and Rufina regions.

This Medicean villa, only 5 miles from the historical centre of Florence, was built in the 16th century by the Landini Family, subsequently owned by the Rinuccinis and the Homberts and home to several Italian, English and Russian aristocratic families.

In 1953 La Massa was sold to John Goldsmith and once again to the Searl family transformed it into a Luxory Hotel.

Since then many famous guests enjoyed their stay at Villa La Massa; Clarke Gable, Winston Churchill, Barbara Hutton, David Niven, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton just to name a few; more recently David Bowie and Iaman took over the Villa for their wedding.
