We enjoyed our stay at Villa Antea. It is a small boutique hotel which had spacious rooms, an excellant breakfast and was in a quiet location yet was within walking distance of main attractions of Florence.

The hotel was beautiful, and rooms were gigantic. The breakfast buffet was nothing special. There were onyl about 5 rooms in the whole hotel, so it was very private, but the walls were thin, I could hear the neighbours talking. Villa Antea describes itself as a boutique hotel. If you go based on this description, you may be dissapointed, especially regarding the service, which was sufficient, but very snobby. However, it was still very beautiful, and the bathroom was luxurious, as was the huge bed.

We were kept waiting at check in as the room wasn't ready although we arrived after the check in time (3pm) The lady who checked us in was very polite and informative.
The room was not cleaned that well - bathroom floor was dirty and had hair all over it.
...
There is a lack of information about the hotel. Room service was hard to find, and for the money the service was lacking. Apart from this the room was lovely and well appointed.

Nice but not that good value

The privacy is insufficent for the bathroom of room no.6. Since there are only transparent curtains, you cannot turn the lights on in the evening, unless you want to be watched by the people who live on the opposite side of the street.
Room no.6 was romantic but not quiet (noise from the street), and the air condition did not work properly (room temp. not below 24 C). The staff were very good.

Very charming hotel, very good staff, reasonable good price compared with other florence hotels. But do avoid to live in room no. 6!

The staff was incredibly welcoming and made us feel very much at home.

Everything was first rate -- the hotel itself, the room, the service and the food. In addition the staff was very helpful in making various other arrangements for us. They could not have been more friendly or responsive.
...
I would mention that the hotel has only six rooms and that enables your highly trained staff to provide the highest level of personalized service, something not readily available at larger hotels.
...
I would recommend Villa Antea in a heartbeat. We would certainly stay there on our next visit to Florence.

An absolute gem! It is spacious, quiet but close to everything. I would like to have a Villa Antea in every city in Europe,

Very welcoming staff, we walked from the train station, with luggage and they journey probably took about 10-15 mins.
...
Not a central Hotel but worth the 15-20 min walk into the centre of town.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Antea, the Villa was beautifully. The rooms were fantastic and the showers have to be experienced. After a long day walking and site seeing Villa Antea was warm and welcoming, a treat to go bed. The staff are lovely and have a great knowledge of Florence, from Markets, shops and restaurants. The Villa Antea is a must!

During our arrival we were given lots of useful tips and information about weher to visit in Florence. It really help us map out of few days stay. The tips were excellent.
...
Staff were really helpful by ordering us a taxi to the station.
...
The hotel was very nice, staff were all friendly and polite. The only thing I would say is that there is no welcoming information in your room. On the website it explains that you can have a la carte meals in the evening and cooked breakfasts in the morning but there is no information about what is available or how you go about ordering it once you are there. When we were welcomed by the staff on our arrival we were not given any of this information either and presumed that there would be a menu at breakfast but there isnt. I think the process was simply that if you wanted a meal then you could order anything you wanted, although there was no menu to choose from.

The hotel is in a good location a 15 minnute walk from the centre of Florence which I prefferred as it was really peaceful, although there is quite a busy road that could be a little noisey in the early morning.
The rooms were very nice and comfortable and cleaned everyday. Breakfast was really nice meats and cheeses, cereals and pastries although there is no menus to order a cooked breakfast you simply have to ask for what you require.
The hotel is actually a converted house so your room leads straight out on to the main staircase , you can sometimes hear other guests walking around and chatting.

Over all it was really nice and clean, very comfortable and the staff were polite. I was pleased with the hotel.

The aircon didn't work and despite reporting it twice no explanation / apology was given and it wasn't fixed. The room had mosquitoes in it, which made for an unpleasant nights sleep! The bathroom only had a net curtain and was over looked by appartments so at night, with the light on people could see in. The staff were not readily avaliable at breakfast. We waited over 15 minutes before having to go and find someone to bring us coffee and we were not made awhere of the options for breakfast.
